7/2017 – RHYME ON!: In Loudoun County’s annual poetry contest, they selected my poem, What is Poetry? for the winner of their free-verse category.

3/2017 – “Her Heart Poetry” published my piece, For Her, Always, for their annual anthology, in both their digital and hard copy prints–even nominating the piece to their “Highly Commended” category.

11/2016 – Booksie encourages connections with readers and writers across the globe where a self-published poem can be found, I Want To Write Something Beautiful.

3/2017 – Rollick Magazine, a poetry journal that publishes cutting-edge, high quality content that inspires real engagement, selected my poem, “A Photo Found in Black and White,” for their third volume, “Somewhere.” The editors said my poem “contained exactly the right kind of wit, intelligence, and observation” they had been looking for. Check out the poem: A Photo in Black and White.

9/2015 – As my FIRST piece of poetry published, Spiritual Writers Network selected my poem, “The Yogi,” for their bi-annual writing contest. The winners of this contest had their poems published in an anthology “Illuminations of the Soul” by Transcendent Publishing, which is available at Amazon right here.

Poetry SLAM on your proudest, Bronco moment

2/13/12  “Why You Hurt Me So Bad”  was SCU’s first poetry SLAM held in the four years I attended. With 100+ attendees over the course of the night, it is no doubt that another event will be hosted in the spring.

Thank you to all the performers and supporters who helped make the awesomeness happen.   ~jdt
